TLDR: This project isn't abandoned. Things have been overwhelming in my personal life and I forgot to officially announce that I was delaying the Chapter 1 update and to change the date here/in the demo. I'm very sorry about that. The only thing that this update has changed is the ending screen which had the update set for July 1st (just wanted to change that as soon as possible, I'll be releasing a prologue update soon). I haven't set a new date for when Chapter 1 will be coming out but if you want more information you can check here on Tumblr, Twitter, or the Zorlok Discord server which I will be updating consistently from here on out with weekly progress reports. Read on for more info and context.

Hello everyone! Terribly sorry for my absence and any concern it might have caused people. 

First off, I want to assure you that this project is not abandoned. I've worked on it every day for the past five months with very few exceptions and will continue to do so until it's finished. This is what I do for fun and I enjoy the hell out of it. Every scrap of free time I have is dedicated to writing, coding, or increasing my skill as a writer/coder. 

That being said, thanks to changes in my personal life, I now have less free time to spend on personal projects (I was recently hired at a new job and I'm a university student in summer courses). Because of this I've had considerably less time to work on Zorlok. I talked about this briefly on Tumblr (here) but didn't follow up with it—which I should have and I won't make that mistake in the future. I also forgot to update all of the places where it was stated the update would be coming out on July 1st cause my mind has been a bit preoccupied and more distracted than usual.

Due to the things I mentioned above, in conjunction with far more personal events and stressors, I've been feeling overwhelmed. When I get into a state like this I tend to buckle down and hyperfixate on my most pressing tasks, setting aside personal projects and interests as best I can until I'm in a place where I feel more comfortable and in control. It never occurred to me that I should update people online with that info because, in all honesty, I'm not used to people caring about or noticing my presence/absence. I have learned my lesson and won't do that again. 

Now in terms of the Chapter 1 update, I won't be setting a date like I have in the past. I've completed the first draft for the first 2 of 6 scenes and edited the prologue but frankly, I don't know how much time I will have to work on Zorlok in the coming weeks (since my most time-intensive class began yesterday and runs through the end of July, but I should have the entire month of August free from classwork). I will be keeping people updated through weekly progress reports on Tumblr and you will be able to find those links on Twitter and in the Discord server. 

As I said above, I spend all the time I can on this project. I bring my laptop with me to work so I can write during my break and read textbooks on JavaScript and CSS before going to sleep. I promise you that this project is coming along and that it will be completed, it's just taking longer than I anticipated when I released the prologue.

Thank you for your concern and interest in this project. It means the world to me and I'm truly sorry if I've upset anyone or caused anyone grief through my actions (or inactions). I cannot wait to share the rest of this story with you and hope you stick around for the ride.
